The families and students living in Beit Yehonatan have been under enormous pressure and stress over the last few years, due to the ongoing and discriminatory legal battle and due to the violent and incessant attacks from the local Arabs.
Notwithstanding, the recent police crackdown and arrests of some of the locals, the throwing of concrete blocks, molotov cocktails and even shooting, has even managed to "scare" some of the little children.
Ateret Cohanim tries to make the lives of the students, children and residents as 'normal' as possible, under the circumstances.
This week, and thanks to generous donations from a few supporters, Ateret Cohanim was able to surprise the children and buy new play equipment for the rooftop of Beit Yehonatan in the old Yemenite Village of Shiloach. (Silwan)
Even though, there have been a number of security incidents involving this rooftop, it didnt deter the children from playing outside on this rooftop.....of cours under the watchful eye of both parents and security guards !!!
